1815 White House Timber and original artwork by Karen Libecap.

Limited to just 30 pieces, this White House edition pen incorporates original Pine timber used to rebuild The White House after it was burned by the British in 1814.  For 112 years this humble Pine beam supported the roof of the Executive Residence.  In 1927 Calvin Coolidge oversaw an intensive renovation of the White House, where this Pine was subsequently removed.

Karen Libecap is an accomplished miniature artist who creates black and white, oil pen lines for Eagle. Each pen is truly unique and requires, on average, 8 hours or more to complete.  The artwork for the White House series was based on a picture taken by John Plumbe Jr. in 1846, the earliest known photograph of The White House.  When the photograph was taken, the Pine timber seen here was supporting the roof of The White House.

The entire pen is sealed with a clear, glassy lacquer, protecting the hand-painted artwork and White House timber for generations to come.

Every pen ships quickly via insured FedEx delivery, compliments of Eagle Pen Company.

An Excerpt from The Vault, recounting Calvin Coolidge's White House Renovation:

Vice President Calvin Coolidge, after facing the sudden death of President Warren G. Harding, found himself thrust into a maelstrom of problems within the White House. Being a man of few words, but of decisive action, 30th President Calvin Coolidge tackled first the allegations of corruption in his predecessor's cabinet, then the physical corruption in the attic. According to reports, the White House suffered a persistent leak in the roof, leading to rot in the attic storage. In 1927 President Coolidge began a large scale renovation of the White House, expanding the attic in the second story to become a full third floor. The block of Pine wood seen here was removed during this very renovation in 1927 and was original to the White House restoration of 1815, following the burning by the British. For 112 years this humble Pine was part of the White House, seeing 26 presidencies in total.
