Jewelry Fit for a Queen

A sterling silver brooch commissioned

for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Handmade by Eagle Pen Company,

hand delivered by President Biden.

"During their visit to Windsor Castle on June 13, 2021 the first couple gave the Queen a hand-painted brooch commissioned by the Eagle Pen Company of Baltimore, Maryland."

"It featured a floral pattern, representing various state flowers, highlighting her tour around the United States...the Pennsylvania laurel to represent Biden’s home state & a California poppy to represent Vice President Kamal Harris’ home state."

"The brooch was hand-painted by American miniature artist Lynn Ponto-Peterson of Arkansas. Part of the brooch was made from pine wood removed from the White House in 1950. It took 40 hours to design & execute the piece, according to a document reviewed by POLITICO."

Hewn History

The brooch's backing plaque, Lynn's canvas, was hand-shaped from a section of White House pine lumber; installed under Madison's rebuilding in 1815 and removed during a 1927 Coolidge renovation.

All That Glitters is Gold

24k gold provides a brilliant flourish to the finest details; beautifully hand-painted in traditional oils by Lynn Ponto Peterson, world renowned miniaturist & resident artist.

"Dear Lynn,

The brooch was breathtaking!

The detail you put into painting

all the flowers was just stunning.

Thank you for putting so much care

and time into such a symbolic gift.

Warm wishes, Jill"
